Of course i know there an anime with relationship between Male and Female Protagonist end up as sister and friend but the mayority is they end up as lover.

(What would be posted in this threat should probably come out as sexist, so an apologize is in advance.)

What make the perfect Waifu? No, not a character, a W-A-I-F-U. To me at least, the distinction is that a Waifu must be an embodiment of one's ideal (or fetishists), instead of being a separate, unique being.

And yes, I know that "Beauty is in the eyes of the Beholder", but we all know that there are certain elements that eight out of ten of us would find to be beautiful.

This threat is dedicated to find those elements. Here is my list:

- Don't be the heroine: A Waifu must always retains a measure of distant - she must be un-possessiveable, as well as remaining distant enough for a "gap" (narrative blank spot) so that the fan can filled in with their imagination. Being the main love interest of the protagonist effectively denies these said qualities

- Be identifiable: The age of "good, honest, sweet childhood friend/neighbor/classmate/etc is over. Every year, there are hundreds of new anime being released, and with them thousands of potential waifu. For one to truly success, the would-be-waifu must have a trait (no, not personality) that make her rise above the plebeians. A catchphrase, a habit, a hobby, etc. Lunacy, amorality, choleric, and bloodlust are the best bets

- Be tragic, as well as lacking the drive to overcome that tragic: It is not about the sake of the tragedy itself, but it is about raising the "brother-instinct" of your real-life husbando. Not only will a good tragedy makes people gloss over your flaws as a character, you will be raised to the level of a goddess.

But also, never, I mean never, let someone rape you. Or being a slut. Or having multiple relationships.

- Either go big or go small: A.K.A "Big-sister vs. Little Sister" body types

Super Sonico figure Color HELP

I have a Super Sonico Baby Doll figure that has a spot on her head not painted, weirdly enough. So the color on her hair is starting off light pink and gets more pink closer to the hairups. And there is this white-ish spot standing out near the headset black pad part. Now I'm not good with finding out colors or even paint for this problem. The hair is also a matte color not giving off any shine. Any suggestions?

What do you think of insert themes

You know, I've been thinking about insert themes in anime series ever since I watched "Your Name." While I really enjoyed the movie, it kind of bothered me how it often used insert songs.

I mean, I like insert songs like the ones Scryed, Gundam SEED or 00. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood uses the opening song as an insert song in one of the final episodes. However, there are other series that almost avoid using music for key scenes like
Spoiler for some important shonen scenes like:


Then I have been annoyed by some of the use of insert songs like in .hack//Roots where almost nothing happens and Ali Project plays something that sounds intense.

What do you guys think? Would some anime be better without insert themes?

Info: The Berne Convention states that copyright starts when something is applied to a fixed/tangible medium and the min. length for members is life+50. However, not every author agrees to this. Sometimes they make their at least 1 of their series royalty-free, will place it under the Creative Commons or an equivalent, or specifically dedicated a work to the public domain. The last type (dedicated work) is risky because you are self-terminating some or all your copyrights to that work (assuming it's creator-owned). Also, since copyright is automatic, it's unknown whether you can reclaim those rights.

California Western School of Law has an independently funded non-profit program called New Media Rights that offers legal services to people working on privacy, media, communications, and IP-related projects. They have a 11/26/11 blog post called "Why do some people choose to give away their copyrighted material instead of trying to make money off of it?" Some of the explanations are in line with how copyright was intended to be (at least in the USA).

The 9/21/14 blog post "Normative Views On Copyright" lists 4 types of copyright mentalities: copyright maximalist (this is Disney), copyright materialist (a term made by the blog writer), copyright minimalist (me), and copyright abolitionist (perhaps emphasized in communist views).

Actual question: has anyone encountered an LN author who made at least 1 of their titles royalty-fee, placed under the Japanese Creative Commons, or made it a dedicated work? If so, what was their reason for doing this? A creator giving permission to fan translations (even if it was royalty-free) doesn't necessarily fall under this.

Romance-Comedy staying power

I've read many "Top 10 Anime"-kind of lists on the net, and I notice something: Barely any romance-comedy works make it to the list. People just doesn't seem to remember romance-comedy very long (one example could be seen in how fast the fandom of newer romance-comedy series fall apart after the series ends.)

And it is not just anime, but if you ask people about the most memorable movies, chances are there won't be many romance-comedy works show up. So why there is this problem? While romance-comedy can not build up a loyal, thoughtful fandom? Is it inheritanly like this?
