I've been having trouble with this for awhile. I used to get it when I opened certain mkv files with MPC but it was solved after I installed CCCP which had MPCHC. Now, I'm trying to do some encoding work with VirtualDubMod and other video editing software and every time I try to open a script, or at least one that references mkv files, I get an error message (1706) saying I need to find the OpenMG Secure Module.msi. It's really killing me because I can't do any encoding because of this error.
I did some digging on other forums and I found out it's a Sony security product that comes with some of it's media programs. The thing is, I don't have any Sony media programs except MediaGo, which shouldn't have OpenMG. I am using a Sony Vaio but I hardly had any Sony software preinstalled on it aside from the usual registry stuff which shouldn't have OpenMG either (and I can't find it to boot). It seems the thing is looking for something that doesn't exist on my computer and I don't know how to troubleshoot or fix it. Help please. I'm using Windows 7.
