Problem with mouse

I have a problem with my mouse, or possibly a software issue. When I click once, about half the time it double or triple clicks. It is one click, but registers it as two or three clicks. It is annoying. I might try to pause a fansub that is playing, and it'll register two clicks so it'll pause and unpause in a split second. Same thing when unpausing (go from upause to pause to unpause). This happens with online videos (like youtube) as well, and it'll happen with music in iTunes. Also, if I skip a track on iTunes, it'll go ahead or back two songs instead of one.

This issue is annoying. Anyone have an idea of how I can fix this? Should I contact MS and see if they can help me?
