Characters that kept you watching an anime you otherwise wouldn't have

Initially I was gonna title this "Characters that deserve better shows" but I was afraid people would get offended or something.

Have you ever had the feeling of "Why the hell am I still watching this?" but decided to keep watching because a character is memorable in some kind of way? Perhaps even more memorable than the show itself, and you felt their greatness was wasted in the series they were in.

I find this particularly important, because I am the type that instantly drops shows if I don't like something, and having something to cling on to greatly reduces the occurrence.

So in my opinion blah blah blah...

Nemuru Kushinada from Okami Kakushi.

That was a nicely animated anime with a decent soundtrack, but the storyline was horrific and the ending is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen before. But Nemuru had a really cool demeanor and nice character design. And her character was actually interesting, unbecoming of the show!

Kuroneko from Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai


Haruka Kasunago from Yosuga no Sora


Fate Testarossa and to a lesser degree Nanoha Takamachi from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Strikers
Note, that I didn't include the 2nd season since that could stand on its own. :p
