How do you respond to ideas that you might not believe is possible?

This has been on my mind for a while now. I noticed that people respond very differently to ideas that are outside of their current realm of what they believe is possible. It could be something minor and relatively inconsequential, or something major that could completely change the way you see the world in a better and more powerful way.

What the idea is isn't important. What matters is your outlook on life and how you respond to the new and unknown.

From my observation, the people who call BS right away and try to slander a person for saying something or living in a way that's outside of their realm of what's possible, tend to be pretty bitter people. I have a feeling that the reason why they call BS right away is because they're unsatisfied with their own life, or they're afraid to face what happens IF whatever that they believed isn't possible, is actually possible. Otherwise, why would they turn away from something that can have a positive impact on their life?

Personally, I find it to be such a turn on when somebody's really open to new experiences, willing to try new things especially if they've never tried it or didn't know it was possible. It could be something physical or something more psychological or esoteric. These people carry around the attitude that life is beautifully infinite and full of magic - how life should be. They don't denigrate those who call BS. Instead, they have compassion for them because it's painfully obvious that those people are suffering and are missing out.

So, what type are you - a doubter, or more of an adventurer?
