Alright the title obviously isn't specific enough. I use MeGUI to do just about any and all of my encodes, but today I decided to configure the x264 'scratch pad' preset to mess around with a few things. Now I haven't really looked on the Misc. tab at the end until now, and I noticed at the bottom it said threads.
I put the help command in the command line so it could give me a better description. It basically said that it can increase encoding speed but negligibly effects quality.
I'm sure it's best to leave it at zero, but if I wanted to make a bigger number, how high can I go. Aren't threads something made by the processor? If this is true and you can only put a certain amount, depending on the processor, then my processor is Intel Centrino.....yea I have an old lap top.(Things broken twice now)
I'm not all to tech-savvy with hardware :heh:
