Romance, with specific conditions

I've seen quite a few romance animes of all types whether it is a work by Shaft, KEY, or what have you.

Now romance animes I have enjoyed are limited. My favorite has been ef~ a tale of memories/melodies. I had mixed feelings about Clannad. Kanon2006 turned into complete crap. Kimikiss was fun, but silly in the end. Kare Kano was very good for most of it. I did like Toradora, but I did not like Taiga, which harmed my enjoyment of the show in the very end. True Tears was also a pretty good show.

Now as for my conditions...

I'm looking for a romance with a strong female lead, I am tired of the typical crappy female lead like Nagisa from Clannad.

It is preferable that the romance is explored a little bit and that it doesn't just end with a confession.

The male lead shouldn't be weak either, in fact.

Comedy welcomed, but preferable if it mainly takes a backseat.

I don't like flip flopping characters, that change their minds every goddamn episode usually.

Anyways, please suggest away knowing that I'm quite a jaded anime fan.
