Hey guys. So I've posted about this before... but now the situation's gotten even more frustrating. I'm running an anime club this year at an all-girl's high school and I've got so many constraints that I'm already out of ideas and it's only been the second meeting.
Here're some of my issues/criteria:
- Time. I only have a freaking 35 minutes to show something. So I'm guessing that going for episodic would be the best way. However, I think anime with strong first episodes is also an option.
- The members' likes.
- My own likes, along with my co-head's. We're both into shounen/seinen and don't mind violence. (some of our mutual faves include Sword of the Stranger, Gurren-Lagann, FMA:B, and she's okay with Hellsing and Gintama)
- The teacher supervisor who's annoying the *bleep* out of me. She says that Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo were "SO inappropriate" with "graphic violence, drugs" and that "some kids couldn't even look". (even if everyone likes Kuroshitsuji and one Higurashi?!)
So there you have it. As you might've gotten from above, I've shown CB and SC, and also Natsume Yuujin-chou so far. Of course the teacher likes Natsume a whole lot more, but the thing is that I'm so much more into darker shows, which makes it difficult for me to choose lighter things. Guys, can you please help me figure out what the heck I should show in future meetings? I'm thinking about Gintama but I feel like it's just too weird for them to understand... Do you agree that it seems like a more Shounen group?
(content descriptions might be pretty useful if you don't mind! Thanks so much, cookies promised!)
