Well, ARM-based tablets, anyway. I'm sure somewhere out there is at least one x86 tablet with vid accel and good support for playing a variety of formats.
Anyhoo, in one month we have two new arm-tablets (think: tons of battery life and doesn't really get hot) that'll have no trouble with fansubs. First off being the iPad, interestingly enough.
Once you jailbreak it, anyway:

The second being Notion Ink's Adam, which right out the gate will require a few workarounds, but works:

On the latter, you'll need a $4 program which won't be available for a couple of months, due to a cross between the creator not being old enough to sell an app on Google's market and Google's market not being built into the Adam yet >_<
But at least we're getting there ;-)
p.s. Okay, not the best definition of "no trouble" =(
p.p.s. For synaesthetic : Both choke at the higher end of 1080p, but seem to handle 720p with no problem (profiles, reference frames, etc). Also, no word on the Adam handling multiple audio tracks, but current players have no interface for it.
