ok following the idea in previous posts let's discuss the current issue of strong wave of censorship of japan material (anime/manga/novels/games), in general this time no 'videos" or whatever just followin the news if you have any news to share do that if you want but let's avoid become a flame war.
i was thinking in making a topic about the amazon ban, but i really feel which would be much better make a "more complete topic and go direct talk about the full censorship, let's be clear this is not the same as the previous about "the attack at japan and bla bla bla is about all the censorship in general, also is not a 'doomsayer topic as the previous looked just discuss about the effect we are getting from it and everyone opnion over it.
ok going to the main topic: since japanese stuffs started to become "more popular" outside japan and less "childsh material" started to come out we also started to notice a grow "censorship" and bad view toward those stuffs be "ecchi" or even violence or others "more sensitive" stuffs like slavery", while in the past it was not a big deal(i means past like until 2 to 4 years ago), nowadays which the great influence of "social networks and "loud voice "of minorities"(i don't means things like black, or gay or whatever but we know the "haters/trolls ultra extremists peoples which hate anything) and while in the past they were not that powerfull now they become with the "cancel culture", we have many western companies scared from that peoples" accepting any crazy request(i'm not talking about real valid critics like real bad behavious like real sexual harassemen, racism and all that stuffs) and that power started to affect the japanese market which nowdays become really big overseas, japan big incoming money from entertainment comes from overseas nowadays.
With this we have extreme activists groups like the "purists, extreme feminists and some others extremists groups and also from western comic/cartoon industry which is seeying they "public being steal by anime/novels/mangas, since western comics and cartoons are getting less attention overtime compared to japanese stuffs and it making many companies like marvel and dc start to complain over it(it's not the only reason but is one of then which they market is shirinking) and others reasons.
if the issue was just "ecchi" then ok, but as we see (at last what i see), the issue is not just about lewd stuffs, since some of the banned and censored products are not "lewd or not so lewd to that point and are more about "sensitive stuffs".
Series like goblin slayer, hero shield, sword art online and others which touchs sensitive stuffs like "rape",(not only female) slavery and others also are being banned aswell, showing which the issue is much worse than it's looks.
this censorship can be a big issue in future for japanese "entertaiment market" "overseas", since the ammount of material being made could be diminsh overtime and more "controlled/censored", shriking the market from japan".
currently we have the famous "amazon ban", which started to ban a lot of novels and mangas without any warn even for the publishers, which apparently banned some "lewd materials were the characters looked too young or when some cases of violence or sensitive stuffs" happened.
also we have the case of patreon, which is now forbbiden to accept any user which "draw" anime/manga characters in lewd stuffs which looks "too youg" and by young i don't means 10 or 12 years or less(lolis), but even the ones which looks like 16 or less basically you can only draw "adult characters" which also must looks like adults and even that can have a chance to be "banned for what some peoples are getting.
we also have the wave of hate and cancel on "twitter artists" like sakamich which is female artist which love draw "lewd stuffs" but keep being attacked time to time and tried to be canceled, we have others which could not hold anymore the "harassement" and deleted they twitter accounts and not just "lewd" but again because of stuffs "like skin color" and bla bla bla, a lot of crazy stuff happening)
also we have the games stuffs and all bla bla bla, not gonna repeat all if you want more details go to the previous post about the japanese anime/manga stuffs
A recent exemple of those stuffs is the ghost of tushima which while is not a "japanese" made stuff" is a game with japanese inspiration which is suffering a massive attack from both medial jornals like ign and again twitter for some sort of cultural apropriation and those peoples demanding japan to "hate" the game, because if it's innacurace about japan", while japan is actually doing the opposite and prising the game leading again a big rage from those peoples.
also another recent nothed case which some peoples are linking it to the "amazon" case is a female legislator in australian, which recently lead to a local ban of many anime/novels/mangas from they stores and she goes to the point of contact amazon and call the to "give then" a list of countrys which not "banned the stuffs, because she is doing a massive campaign to make the ban be "overseas(outside australian), this is why some peoples are start to think which was her "fault", because she is accusing the "anime/manga/novels innaproriate for childrens and not only because of the lewd but also because of violence and sensitive stuffs, this lead to again the "same previous lists" which things like sword art online and goblin slayer be banned in australian.
