Moeri is the human incarnation of the phoenix. There are numerous cases when a demon or other such creature will hide and regain strength by attaching themselves to an unborn child. Their souls being attached to the mortal shell allows the creature to lead an anonymous life until they see fit to shed the facade.
Moeri was a rare exception. The soul of the phoenix, unable to pass on to the afterlife attached itself to a child just moments before its birth. The child's soul came to be at the same time as the phoenix's posession, and as a result, the two souls were fused into one. The phoenix lost all memory of itself, but latent powers remained.
Growing up in the leaf village was as normal as could be expected. Moeri had gone through the ninja academy, and had begun working as a genin to help support her family. While not remarkable or noteworthy, she was always known for being very capable and able to adapt to nearly any situation. There was even word of her being ready to become a chuunin.
However, all thought of that went away when the village was attacked by the Kyuubi. Her parents, being ninja themselves joined the fourth hokage in battle against the beast. She was just returning from a mission to see the battle end. The beast and the hokage were gone, only a clearing of shattered trees and corpses remained. With her teammates already at the village further ahead, Moeri found her parents. Her mother was barely alive, but her father had not been so lucky. Moeri took both of them to her grandparents living outside of the village.
A few days later, Moeri's mother had perished from her wounds and was buried alongside her husband. Moeri cried over their graves for two whole days. She repeated herself over and over, "give them back".
In one burst of grief and anger, she felt her skin growing warm. The ground around her blackened and charred as the young girl burst into brilliant flames. She screamed, terrified and confused, but soon realised that she felt no pain and saw no burns on her skin. Moeri watched in a combination or fear and awe as the flame flooded into the graves. The fire burned with every color in the spectrum, obliterating the earth and rock, revealing her parents. The flames removed their wounds, brought warmth back into their bodies and returned the souls to their proper place. Her parents stirred, as if from a deep sleep, to see their young daughter framed by brilliant wings of fire.
It has been 12 years since that day. Moeri's parents have long since retired from the ninja business, instead tending to the farm with the grandparents. Moeri has abandoned her ninja lifestyle and began to travel, now in full control of her powers. She rarely shows them, but when she does, many people claim to see a bird of fire in the night sky.

Abilities - Moeri, being the phoenix incarnate, is a naturally exceptional pyrokinetic. While never learning specific fire jutsu, her powers allow her to manifest fire at will and she can control it with ease.
The fire is however, not your typical flame. The fire is one of purification. The fire specifically burns that which is evil, dark and corrupted. The fire often engulfs an enemy, burning away their malicious spirit and desires and leaving a purified and tranquil person behind.
It can also be used to restore. The fire will close wounds and cure minor diseases, and with enough effort, can restore a person from death.
However, Moeri has learned that she is unable to resurrect anyone. The flame only revives people that she knows. She is unable to call back a spirit of someone that she is not familiar with, so while the body may be restored back to life, it will die again shortly thereafter without it's original soul.
The fire also has the ability to gain a fairly solid form. The flames that form Moeri's phoenix wings have to maintain feather-like rigidity and strength to support her in flight. The wings are able to maintain flight quite easily and Moeri can move and control them just like another set of limbs. The only downside is the obvious fact that they draw absurd amounts of attention, so Moeri keeps them subdued while she uses her powers, often not extending more than a foot while being controlled.
Moeri's sword, which is based on the european flamberge, is able to withstand her fire. In fact, the sword itself is her only means of using fire for offensive reasons. When the fire engulfs the blade, Moeri uses it with murderous intent, removing whatever purifying effects the fire has while being on the sword. As long as the fire is channeled through the sword with intent to kill, the flames will incinerate everything they touch.
Unfortunately, Moeri's leave of absence from the ninja lifestyle has left her combative abilities rather low. Her chakra and jutsu control has become mediocre at best, but her taijutsu and physical conditioning are still top notch. She very rarely has to fight anyone, being the peaceful person that she is. She wanders from town to town, working in local clinics where she can (discreetly) use her powers to aid those in need.

Bio: Always in tune with nature, Sora spends most of her spare time training or playing her lyre, both in the woods or fields/meadows. Sora is well known around the village for her bubbly, bright personality, keen eye, and perceptiveness. She is an agile fighter and does best either at close range with kunai and such weapons or at a distance with a bow (her aim is exceptional).
She also loves to make things, her craft being mostly with wood. Sora has a dominant nature and can be a bit of a control freak.


Jutsu: Earth style.
Jutsus involving things like Earth movement, vines, tree roots, etc...
can virtually control the element of Earth, often with her bare hands.

Kekkei Genkai: Shade-shift: can blend into her surroundings, not just like a chameleon but can actually meld with/become a part of whatever it is. This makes her virtually invisible (except to talented chakra sensors) and an invaluable spy.

History and personal:
Sora comes from a long line of wood elves, the Twinleaf clan. She grew up living a pretty normal life. Her mother and father, Shae and Oron, are still alive but Sora is for the most part independent. She is more perceptive than most, as was discovered when she was little and she would notice things not even the adults around her did. Sora has had a small group of friends most of her life but prefers the company of animals, wild and domestic. Has a husky named Po.
Sora believes highly in the naturality (if that makes sense?) of things and dislikes things that are unnatural or illusionary.

Details:
Clan Background:
The clan are connected to the bijuu. The clan was formed when the bijuu left the service of the Shinigami much to the Shinigami’s annoyance. Their human forms were established by the bijuu because to successfully hide from the Shinigami until they regained the strength lost when escaping they needed a human second body. They had to find a close-to-death human that they give a portion of their chakra, effectively saving the human’s life. This established a connection between the bijuu and the human making the human the bijuu’s otherbody. This otherbody is a place the bijuu can hide in using a special seal. This seal allows the bijuu to control the human which doesn’t happen often because the human generally follow the bijuu like little puppies. Over time the otherbodies started to get old and close to death again. The bijuu used their chakra to half create an otherbody using a female host, impregnating the host with their chakra. Thus over time even as the bijuu were sealed away the clan remains in case at some point the bijuu need their assistance again.

Life Story:
Nothing interesting occurred in Kyuu’s life until he took the name Kyuu Chuugi upon his father’s death. He wasn’t allowed out of the village until that time like all the other Chuugi children. He was trained in the ways of the shinobi as he grew up. Upon receiving the Kyuu Chuugi name at 11 he has completed numerous missions showing more control over his segment of the Kyuubi’s chakra than any Kyuu before him. To this day he can be found completing a mission, in a local tavern or searching for the Jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi to free his master.
