Suggestions Action/Comedy Related

Well in short I am way behind on a lot of anime out there, I fell off from watching anime for this pass year. Now I am getting back in the game, I have just finished what I thought was a great anime called Basilisk thanks to netflix. It left me wanting more, so I am asking for any great ninja titles, other then Naruto, just to many episodes for my taste.

So pretty much suggestions for something around in the same time era. Ninja, Samurai, or some kind of warrior action. I would love if possible a bit of comedy to it. The one thing that I didn't much care for about Basilisk was the constant tragedy. One thing after another, and the ending was the most depressing thing I have seen in a while. I am not much for drama and tragedy, I can take a little but basilisk was full of it. Death in such of main characters that you start to love bugs me a little and anyone that has watch Basilisk might understand how irritating it was getting.

Anyways just throw some titles out, I will greatly appreciate it.

If anyone would care I would love to just chat, and discuss anime and such I, I don't have any real life connections with anyone that watchs anime, I am kind of in the closet you can say with anime were I live. But if you don't care I would be glad to befriend anyone. :D
