So recently I decided I wanted to buy a computer, but this time I want to actually build one and would appreciate any help or advice you can give on this matter.
Right now, my budget is somewhere around $800-1000. But of course, I would like to keep things optimal, and remove things that may be too excessive, and make sure what I get is actually quality for its price.
My current aim is a gaming focused computer that should be able to handle a stressful game of something like Starcraft II on ultra graphics settings (4v4 for example). I want to try and make a computer that will perform well.
Now as far as I can tell the 11 components I need to build a computer are the following...
I already have a suitable mouse and keyboard so that's not an issue (As well as external speakers, head set and such).
So far the computer I've been able to construct with these 11 components has amounted to a total of $1112, excluding tax and shipping, going off websites like newegg.com.
Here is all the information about it.
Mother Board -$114.99
Processor - $199.99
CPU Cooler (Fan) - $29.99
Memory/RAM - $59.99
Graphics Card - $239.99
Hard Drive - $69.99
CD/DVD Drive - $19.99
Case - $64.99
Power Supply - $79.99
Monitor - $159.99
Windows 7 - $64.95
Again this totals to be about $1112. Not only is this a bit over my budget, I feel very confused about what I put together.
My main issues are 1) Are all these parts compatible, or this is an easier way to check if they're compatible, 2) Which parts are over the top for my purposes, how can I optimize my performance under a budget, and 3) What is even considered good?
Is there any help you guys could possibly provide? I'll post any more information if necessary. Thanks.
