I'm talking about the classics. ANYTHING from the 80s and onward. Disney-before-it-turned-to-crap, Don Bluth films, Fox Animation Studios, those excellent cartoons from ABC, WB, FOX, Nick, and all those other stations. I'd never realized how bad this CGI bug got until while flipping through the channels, I catch Garfield.
Garfield and Friends was one of my favorite childhood cartoons when I was like five.
And now he and his friends have been reduced to horrible, unfunny bulgy, balloon animals through the magical wonders of CGI.
I was like:
:twitch::eyebrow::upset::mad::frustrated:
After that I ran into Mickey Mouse on Disney looking THE EXACT SAME TERRIBLE WAY. A stupid balloon animal!!
My reaction this time was :twitch::frustrated::frustrated:
Seriously, I'ved enjoyed funny CGI movies. I like Pixar. I like Shrek. Heck, I even liked the Madagascars, Ice Ages, and Kung-Fu Pandas. They were amusing, sure.
But when I compare my childhood films and cartoons to TODAY'S programming for kids......
it makes me want to throw myself onto the floor, kicking and screaming. I was damn lucky to be born in the 80s.... Thank you, Mother and Father. ;____; And thank you, Japan, for making wonderful HAND-DRAWN anime.
WHY has it come to this!? Why is 2D so dead in America!? It has an irreplacable charm 3D films will never replicate!! DOES ANYBODY ELSE SHARE MY PAIN!?
*end of rant*
p.s. If anyone walks in here with the attitude "Why are you bitching about cartoons for children-grow up!"...please, GTFO, thanks. :)
