I was originally debating with myself on whether or not to post a rant on the My Anime List Forums on how 5 being "average" on its site is somewhat low for rating purposes, but then I remembered I could do that here without the repercussions of criticizing the very page you type on. Perhaps AnimeSuki isn't the best place to scrutinize the workings of a different community, but I figure that My Anime List is common enough among animanga (which I'll use from now on instead of anime/manga) fans to the point where a lot of them (us?) have an MAL. So back to what I was saying, if 5 is indeed their number for "average," then apparently anything subpar of the standard is horrible. Personally, I use 7 as the "average" number, with 6 being "okay" and 5 being "mediocre" since I rarely find an animanga bad enough to warrant being rated below 5, and if it does reach the 4, 3, 2, or 1 zone, it's all poor anyway. Why, was I talking too much? Well then, I'll pass the mic to everyone else; what do you think about MAL's rating system?
TL note: 8=great, 9=fantastic, 10=perfect (IMO).
TL note 2: TL means "translator."
TL note 3: I couldn't think of a clever way to put "PS."
